It's All Relevant (Day 8)

It’s all relevant in the scheme of things, and I believe my God does not make mistakes. He’s an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God whose “eyes are in every place beholding the evil and the good.” In His infinite wisdom, He knew I would be right here, right now, at this place, during this time writing this blog. And He also knew that you would be reading it. He knew in the late 1980's when he sent the woman who lived down the hall from me and my lesbian lover to ask us to attend a Frederick K.C. Price revival meeting with her that I would say yes even though my partner would say no. God knew that I was yearning for a deeper walk with Him, and He had already prepared Reverend Price - who was waiting for me along with hundreds of others at New York City’s Madison Square Garden - to preach a word that I needed to hear.

God knew that I would be filled with the Holy Ghost that night before I returned home to my lesbian lover and that my life would never be the same after that. Jehovah-Nissi, my banner and protector, knew what I needed to “launch out into the deep;” and because of His divine discernment, ordered my steps so that I could get closer to Him since this was something I was desiring to do.

It’s been a journey and didn’t happen overnight, but I no longer live a lesbian lifestyle, and I’m grateful to God for that. Although I still wholeheartedly agree with my gay and lesbian brothers and sisters in Christ that we were born this way, God has helped me to understand that I don’t have to continue living that way. For a long time, I have been asking God to help me love Him with all my heart, and with all my soul, and with all my mind and He has lead me to this revelation. You see, I sincerely want to please God but I recognize that I am unable to do it in my own capabilities. I need God in order to please God, and I go to Him in faith believing He is able to help me do it. Without Him, I cannot do it.

Through committed prayer and devotions, God has revealed a change in my life and has let me know that my faith in Him, the Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ and the finished work on Calvary’s Cross will help me to live a life that is pleasing unto Him. I must guard my thoughts and watch as well as pray so that I do not succumb to divers temptations. And I’m alright with that since I am convinced it is God who speaks to me and not man. It is God who speaks to me and not woman. God's grace covered me since I was that way, but His love strengthened me so that I no longer have to live that way. When God reveals to you what it takes to please Him, He also gives you a peace that “surpasses all understanding” so that you can do it.

My prayer today is that churches of all denominations who proclaim JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR continue to make room for believers so that they can “work out their own salvation.” I pray that God's universal church continues to draw men and women with the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST as it prays for their souls, point them to the Cross, and teach them God’s Word. In Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

Philippians 2:12 -15 (KJV)

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons (and daughters) of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Peace & Blessings,
